High School Career

At Rockwall High School, Jaxon Smith-Njigba established himself as one of the most dominant receivers in Texas football history. Across 44 career games, he totaled 5,346 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns, becoming one of the state's most productive pass catchers ever.

His senior season elevated him to another level. Smith-Njigba recorded 104 receptions for over 2,000 yards and 35 touchdowns, helping cement his reputation as one of the nation’s elite prospects. His performance earned him Texas 6A State Player of the Year, National Gatorade Player of the Year, and national recognition as a 5-star recruit and Top-50 player in the country.

By the time his career at Rockwall ended, he wasn't just a standout player — he had become one of the most decorated athletes in program history.

College Career

Jaxon Smith-Njigba arrived at Ohio State in 2020 as one of the nation’s top wide receiver recruits, joining a receiver room loaded with future NFL talent including Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. Even surrounded by elite players, Smith-Njigba quickly established himself as one of college football’s next stars.

His breakout came during the 2021 season, when he emerged as Ohio State’s leading receiver and became one of the most productive pass catchers in the country. He finished the season with 95 receptions, 1,606 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns, setting a new Ohio State single-season receiving yard record.

Smith-Njigba capped off his college career with a historic performance in the 2022 Rose Bowl, recording 15 receptions for 347 yards and 3 touchdowns — setting Rose Bowl records and delivering one of the greatest performances in college football postseason history.

Professional Career

Jaxon Smith-Njigba entered the NFL as the 20th overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Seattle Seahawks. After arriving in Seattle with high expectations, he quickly made an impact and showed flashes of the playmaking ability that made him one of the nation's top prospects. His early seasons established him as a key piece of Seattle’s offense and set the stage for a breakout at the professional level.

The 2025 season marked a turning point in Smith-Njigba’s career. Emerging as one of the NFL’s premier offensive weapons, he put together a historic campaign that saw him lead the league in receiving yards while rewriting Seattle franchise records. His production and consistency earned him First-Team All-Pro honors and solidified his place among the NFL’s elite wide receivers.

The momentum carried into 2026, where Smith-Njigba continued elevating his game and helping lead Seattle on a deep postseason run. On football’s biggest stage, he played a major role in the Seahawks’ return to the Super Bowl, adding another defining chapter to a journey that had already included dominance at both the high school and college levels.

By this point in his career, Smith-Njigba had transformed from a highly-touted prospect into one of the faces of the Seahawks organization. From Rockwall High School to Ohio State and onto the NFL, his story continues to be defined by production, milestones, and success on every stage.
